How perfectionism kills affiliate marketing profits

I have always been a perfectionist. The rush to do everything as perfect as possible might be bad for online business.

Imagine you have to create a site and publish it quickly to start making sales and get income. And here the slowdown starts - first, you suggest a perfect site that will make enormous income.

You start to think over it's design, print out many articles trying to find something amazing... Week after week is passing by but your amazing design is not ready yet...

Suppose you got the idea of how your design will look like and now it's time for keyword analysis. Another point where perfectionism ruins it all - you start looking for "ideal" keywords that will let you site get to top 10 quickly, will bring you lots of highly targeted traffic and bring many sales... You can spend days for that search and finaly return to basic keyword suggestions - but your time will be spent.

And finally - the copywriting! The sales copy should be perfect without doubt! Whether the visitor orders your product or not - it depends on how your text is written, so you are trying to create a masterpeace of sales copy, you read lots of articles and books on how to write great sales copies, you spend days makign and remaking your own one, or you just wait for flash of genious come down your mind and the masterpiece will born - for every page of your site...

So, we get 80% of all our time spent on activity that does not make us money. I mean all that is important - design, copywriting, keywords, but making it perfect means LOSING MONEY.

That was me, and since January 2007 I made only 1 site, promoting only 1 Moreniche product. Well I've made pretty nice money already, but if I weren't perfectionist, I could now earn 10 times more! Moreniche and Worldniche products are high-demand ones on the internet, so losing such great opportunity to make money is foolish.

Building your own online income from scratch - how it happens...

What is affiliate online business? To put it simple - you signup to an affiliate program, learn the product they are offering to sell, and sell this product on the internet by any means possible :)

These can be:

• build your own website or blog and attract visitors interested in your products, "presell" them and lead to the product site where they are supposed to order product
• attract traffic to the special "presell" website by means of Google Adwords or analogs
• use any other ways of promotion (email lists, article marketing, doorways and so on...)

I started from my own site as it gives the most permanent traffic and great for promoting products.

I knew nothing about it - how to create site, how to build site structure, what are keywords, what is f...ing "html" - nothing! Not saying of SEO and site promotion.

So I started to learn it all - got several books on html language, created test pages and mini sites, then got a book on Dreamweaver and trained myself creating pages in it.

Then I got several books on site promotion and SEO optimisation and read them all. All of that was a really hard work (which pays off now successfully!). There was no Making You Richer then, so it was really hard for a novice to suck in all that enormous knowledge...

What about time consumption?

Learning html took me 2 weeks of evereday reading/testing

Dreamweaver - 2 weeks of reading a book and testing my knowledge in the program.

How to create sites - oh man I read so many articles on topic that I cannot even remember - seems I did it all the time :)

And then I just gave it all up! I watched entertaining sites, talked on icq, fool's paradise. I just spent too many time and energy on learning that my subconcsious refused to keep up.

Just imagine - you work so hard but no money you see - 95% give it up usually and get back to working full-time for a small salary.

By the way, forgot to say that I did it while working full-time! I did it all on job when I had free time.

Only in December 2006 I started in my first site seriously and after month it was ready.

The story seems too long so I return back to it in my future posts, it's time for tea now :)

How I started to make money online

Hello my name is Anthony and I've started my online money making journey a year ago...

If you're interested in the reason why? - it's not beaten "I want a new car" or "I want some extra income", it's far beyond...

For the person who lives in a world for 25 years and stays on the same level while spending time on job, job, job... with the only result of some money for a living, there's a clear thing to see - I'm not changing so nothing around me changing either.

Online business (affiliate marketing is the major part of it) is a way to change. Change world view, change thoughts and behaviour and become another person - with realized potential.

My criteria of efficacy are simple - my earnings go from 0 to hundreds, then thousands bucks hand over hand.

Some background

A year ago I thougt that I want to try making money with only my own efforts. After my subconscious sucked that idea and agreed, the opportunity appeared - my course mate had online business and I asked him how I can have it too.

He offered me affiliate marketing with one of the credible online affiliate programs, so.... my journey started. In my next posts I'll write how the whole thing was to me, because the beginning phase is probably the most important in online business. Especially for newbs like me was then.
